Currently Listening to... Chvrches

Mushroom.com

I'm the kind of person who gets really obsessed with things. When it comes to music, I don't usually listen to more than one artist at a time– I guess most people would call that an obsessive personality and I tend to agree with that. My current music obsession (and forgive me if I'm a year or so behind on this discovery) is Chvrches.

Currently listening to... Ellie Goulding: Love Me Like You Do

Can we all just take a moment to recognise how amazing Ellie Goulding is? I'm a bit on the fence about the upcoming Fifty Shades Of Grey movie (is it gonna be awkward and porny? Who knows!), but Ellie's latest single off the film's soundtrack is the best thing my ears have heard in a while. Her waltz in the music video is so flippin' adorable I'm so close to booking ballroom dancing lessons!

Those tranquil feels

I feel like I should take up yoga, or meditation, or pilates– is there even a difference?– because I am loving this relaxed feeling I've been experiencing lately. I never want it to end. Would you believe that this is all thanks to a Spotify playlist?

I am obsessed.

Obsessed with a feeling more than anything. That feeling you get when a delicious rhythm invades your body and leaves you dancing uncontrollably and with no care for what anyone thinks of your ridiculous moves... you all know the one, right? ;)

Loving London Grammar

My latest obsession. Her voice is flawless. Their songs are incredible. They are amazing!

Parachute 2013 Favorites

This year marked my fifth time attending the annual Parachute Music Festival (held just outside of my hometown, Hamilton). Although there are many things that keep me coming back year after year, the one thing I love most about the festival is the chance to discover and rediscover great music.

This year was no exception. There were so many amazing artists and I wish I could mention them all but for the sake of time (and to avoid me rambling as I often tend to do) I've narrowed it down to just three– the creme-de-la-creme, so to speak.

Farah Loux

Farah Loux (formerly known as Alaska) are a firm crowd favorite every year at Parachute. Listening to them, it's not hard to see why. I love how they use such an array of different instruments (rather than the standard guitar and drums). They have such a unique, folky sound that is oh-so-catchy!
