Christmas is almost here and 2013 is coming to a close. I've said it before and I'll say it again; time flies by so fast! Seriously! I swear the year just started!

This month's desktop calendar image is of London– one of my favorite cities in the world. Even though I've never been there, I feel like London and I are destined to meet. We suit each other to a tee... or should I say "tea"? ;)

Well done, London!

Fireworks during the closing ceremony (sourced from: London2012.com) |
I'm just sitting here watching the closing ceremony/ waiting for the Spice Girls to come out and I can't help but feel a little disappointed! Not because of the ceremony itself– it's pretty amazing so far– but because it is all ending! :(
I've made no secret of my love for London, it's one of my favorite cities! I've really enjoyed watching the marathons, triathlons and cycling events that toured this wonderful city from the streets. Aside from actually being there, I think it's the best way to see the London sights.
Also, I love the sense of unity that comes along with having the entire world represented in one place at one time and for one reason. It's so special and fills me with so much pride!
But even though these games are ending, I guess I can take comfort in the fact that the next games are that much closer! I can't wait for Rio 2016, let's see if they can out-do London 2012– it's not going to be an easy task!!
What was your favorite part of the games?

It's raining, it's pouring!
But I'm trying to be positive about it! After all, there aren't many places around the world that can hide from the drizzle! I've found that looking at pictures of wonderful places on rainy days has romanticised the wet weather, thus making a bit more bearable!
Take a look at some of my favorites, maybe they can inspire you to be positive on a seemingly miserable day as well...

The Diamond Queen- Happy Jubilee Queen Elizabeth!

She hasn't changed a bit! |
I had a very British weekend this weekend. I stayed up waaaay past my bed time with my tea, scones and jam and watched the amazing jubilee river pageant on TV. It was such a sight seeing thousands of boats parade down the Thames to the excitement of the millions of people who gathered at the banks hoping to get a glimpse of the action! It even got me a bit excited seeing all the great London landmarks from the river– London Bridge, the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben (or should I say Elizabeth Tower?)! Ahh, I love London so much!

The river pageant was so amazing! |
Anyway, congratulations to the Queen on 60 years of service! Can't wait till her next jubilee (Platinum is it?), maybe I'll actually be in London for that one!!

London calling!
Oh London, can't I just be there already!? |
I love London!!
I am certain of this, despite never having been there before. I feel like, of all the cities in the world, London was tailor made just for me. And here are five reasons why...
1. I have a thing for Royals
LOVED the Royal Wedding! |
2. I love the architecture
St Paul's is so beautiful! |
3. I'm a bit of a history freak
The Tower of London, the holy grail of British history! |
4. I'm a big tea drinker
Tea and scones, anyone? |
5. I love pretty clothes
Topshop, I will shop in you one day! |
Ahhh, we have so much in common, London and I. It is certain to be a life long love affair!
Rachel xoxo
